Kitchen Bar Lighting Installation

Kitchen Bar Lighting Installation

This client wanted me to replace the lighting over her kitchen bar and correct the fact that the contractors who built the house did not center the original light fixture over the bar. So, I went to the attic, installed a new electrical box and mounted it so it would be centered with the bar. Once this was complete, we needed to correct the fact that the old electrical box was now visible (see photo) and was mounted 1/8″ too low to mud or texture over. So, our only option was to completely cover the old box. I found this faux tin material at a local hardware store, mounted it to a piece of plywood and framed it to match the new colors. Not only is the fixture greatly improved over what used to be there, but now the light, ceiling fixture and bar all tie together nicely.
